CRM and loyalty for online and Facebook sellers in Bangladesh

Customer profiles with purchase history, segments for repeat buyers, loyalty points, coupons and flash sales. Marketing campaigns and automated notifications go out to the segment you choose.

Acquiring an online customer in Bangladesh usually means paying Facebook for the introduction. Selling to that person a second time costs an SMS, which is why repeat rate is the number that decides whether an online business is actually profitable.

That requires the customer to exist as a record rather than as a delivery address on one order. Purchase history, segments and a reason to come back are what turn a list of parcels into a customer base.

What goes wrong for online sellers

Everyday problems in this trade, from the industry guide.

  • Orders scattered across Messenger and Sheets

Every order is copied from a chat into a spreadsheet by hand. Addresses are wrong, phone numbers are mistyped, and when two people update the sheet at once, an order is quietly lost.

  • COD statements never reconcile

The courier pays out in lumps days after delivery. Matching each parcel to a payout, less charges and returns, takes an evening a week and the difference is usually written off as a mystery.

  • Returned parcels eat the margin

Customers refuse delivery or do not answer the phone. Return parcels come back weeks later, are not counted back into stock, and the delivery charge has been paid twice for nothing.

  • Fake and duplicate orders

Without an SMS or call confirmation, a share of orders are never real. They are packed, shipped and returned, and the courier fee is lost each time along with the packing.

Repeat customers and campaigns

How Customers, CRM & Loyalty handles it.

Customer profiles with purchase history, segments for repeat buyers, loyalty points, coupons and flash sales. Marketing campaigns and automated notifications go out to the segment you choose.

What you get

The parts of Customers, CRM & Loyalty that matter most here.

  • Customer profile and history

One page per customer with contact details, type, segment, loyalty balance, dues and every invoice, POS receipt, online order and return, so a phone call is answered from the record rather than from memory.

  • Customer types and segments

Group customers into types such as retail, wholesale or corporate, and define segments with rules on customer type and minimum purchase. Types and segments drive price tiers and campaign target lists.

  • Loyalty points and tiers

Set how points are earned and what each point is worth, define tiers with benefits, set expiry in days and a minimum redemption. Customers redeem points as a payment method at the counter.

  • SMS campaigns

Send promotional or informational SMS to a filtered customer list, schedule the send and watch delivery counts. Bangladeshi gateways such as Grameenphone, Robi, Banglalink and SSL Wireless are supported, with Bangla Unicode encoding handled.

  • Flash sales and abandoned carts

Run time-boxed flash sales on the storefront and follow up abandoned carts from the same module, so online browsers become buyers and a forgotten cart gets a nudge.

  • Coupons per customer

Issue coupon codes with value, limits and validity, assign them to specific customers or campaigns, and track redemption on invoices and at POS so a code is never used twice by mistake.

A working day for online sellers

The sequence this trade actually runs, from the industry guide.

  1. Order arrives from page or website

Website orders land in the ERP automatically. Messenger orders are keyed in by staff with the customer's name, phone number and delivery address.

  2. Confirm by SMS or call

An order placed SMS goes out, staff confirm doubtful orders by phone, and confirmed orders move to packing with stock reserved against them.

  3. Pack and book the courier

Shipments are created against orders. Steadfast bookings go through its API; for Pathao, Paperfly or CarryBee the consignment number is entered by hand. The tracking reference is stored on the order.

  4. Deliver and update the customer

Tracking status updates the order and a delivery SMS goes to the customer. Refused parcels are marked for return so they are expected back.

  5. Reconcile COD and returns

Courier statements are uploaded and matched to delivered orders in courier payments, charges are recorded, and returned parcels are checked back into stock.

Questions

Answered plainly, including where the answer is no.

Can I message customers who bought a particular product?

Yes. Customers can be segmented by purchase history and other attributes, and the resulting list can receive an SMS or WhatsApp campaign, or a coupon aimed at that group.

Are abandoned carts recoverable?

Abandoned carts are tracked and can be followed up through automated notifications and campaigns, which for cash on delivery retail is often the cheapest revenue available.
