Where this matters most
Your customers do not open email. They read SMS, and increasingly WhatsApp. SORS ERP sends the messages that matter from the transactions that cause them: an order confirmation when the sale is booked, a payment receipt when cash or bKash is recorded, a shipped notice when the parcel leaves, and a payment reminder to customers with dues.
You choose the gateway. Grameenphone, Robi, Banglalink, SSL Wireless, Reve, BulkSMSBD, BoomCast, ElitBuzz, KhudeBarta, AlphaNet, AjuraTech, BDBulkSMS and Route Mobile are supported alongside Twilio, Vonage and AWS SNS, so you keep the masking sender ID and per-SMS rate you already negotiated. Bangla text is detected and encoded as Unicode automatically, with the part count shown before you send.
Every message is logged with gateway, encoding, parts, cost and delivery status, and a balance ledger tracks what you have spent per gateway. WhatsApp runs alongside SMS through the Meta WhatsApp Business API or Twilio, with approved templates, message history and broadcast campaigns to customer lists.
How it works

- SMS gateway, GP, Robi, SSL
- Delivery log, Status, cost
- WhatsApp broadcast, Meta API, Twilio
What is included
- Sixteen gateways supported
- Configure Grameenphone, Robi, Banglalink, SSL Wireless, Reve, BulkSMSBD, BoomCast, ElitBuzz, KhudeBarta, AlphaNet, AjuraTech, BDBulkSMS, Route Mobile, Twilio, Vonage or AWS SNS with your own API credentials and sender ID. Switch gateway without touching a single template.
- Bangla Unicode encoding
- The ERP detects whether a message fits the GSM 7-bit set or needs Unicode, then shows the character limit, 160 or 70 per part, the number of parts and the estimated cost before you send. No more truncated Bangla messages.
- Trigger rules per event
- Turn on automatic SMS for order created, confirmed, shipped, delivered or cancelled, web order received, payment received, payment reminder, low stock, purchase order created, leave approved and payslip ready, each with its own template and on-off switch.
- Templates with variables
- Write templates in Bangla or English with placeholders for customer name, order number and amount, and keep separate templates per event. Staff sending a one-off message pick a template and the values fill in from the record.
- Bulk campaigns to customer lists
- Send a promotion or Eid greeting to a filtered list of customers, schedule it for a sensible hour, and watch processed, success and failed counts as the queue works through the list in the background.
- Delivery logs and balance
- Every SMS is logged with mobile number, gateway, encoding, parts, unit rate, total cost, provider message ID, status and error text. A balance ledger per gateway records top-ups and spend so you know when to recharge.
- OTP and login alerts
- One-time passwords for storefront sign-in and password reset go out over the same gateway, with generate, verify and resend handled by the ERP. Login alerts and system maintenance notices use the same trigger events.
- WhatsApp templates and broadcast
- Connect the Meta WhatsApp Business API or Twilio, manage approved message templates, and run broadcast campaigns processed in the background. Message history and webhook logs show what was sent and what came back.
- Staff notifications too
- SMS is not only for customers. Low stock alerts, purchase order created, leave approved and payslip ready events can notify the owner, the godown in-charge or the employee, so the phone buzzes before the problem grows.
In Bangladesh
SMS in Bangladesh is cheap, regulated and universal. Masked sender IDs are arranged through the operators and licensed aggregators, which is why SORS ERP connects to the local gateways your business already has an account with rather than forcing you onto a foreign provider priced in dollars.
Bangla Unicode SMS carries only 70 characters per part, so a careless template costs double or triple. The encoding check shows the part count before sending, and templates can be kept in English for transactional notices and in Bangla for promotions, whichever your customers respond to.
WhatsApp is now where many F-commerce conversations happen. Approved templates through the Meta Business API let you confirm orders and share delivery updates there, while the SMS log remains the record your accounts team can rely on when a customer says they never got the reminder.
Frequently asked questions
Which SMS gateways can I use with SORS ERP?
Grameenphone, Robi (Airtel), Banglalink, SSL Wireless, Reve, BulkSMSBD, BoomCast, ElitBuzz, KhudeBarta, AlphaNet, AjuraTech, BDBulkSMS and Route Mobile, plus Twilio, Vonage (Nexmo) and AWS SNS. You enter your own API credentials and sender ID, so the per-SMS price is whatever you have agreed with the gateway.
Does it send SMS in Bangla?
Yes. The ERP detects Bangla characters, switches to Unicode encoding and shows that each part carries 70 characters instead of 160, along with the total parts and estimated cost. Templates can be written in Bangla, English or a mix.
Can it send due reminders automatically?
A payment reminder trigger and template are included, and the ERP knows every customer's outstanding balance. Reminders go out to customers with dues from the Send SMS screen or as a scheduled campaign; a fully automatic daily dunning run is not built in yet.
Is WhatsApp included or an extra?
WhatsApp is a module in the ERP that is switched on per tenant. You connect your own Meta WhatsApp Business API account or Twilio number; Meta's per-conversation charges and template approvals are between you and Meta.
What happens to SMS if the gateway is down?
Each send is logged with the gateway's response and an error message when it fails, so nothing disappears silently. Campaigns run in a background queue and record success and failure counts, and you can switch the default gateway in settings and send again.
Can staff send a one-off SMS to a customer?
Yes. The Send SMS screen lets staff pick a customer or type a number, choose a template or write a message, see the part count and cost, and send. The message appears in the log with the name of the person who sent it.
