Modules that matter here
A superstore lives on speed at the counter and discipline in the back. Thousands of items, some sold by weight, prices that change with the market, three or four counters at the evening rush, and a cashier who must balance to the taka at closing. Any delay at billing sends the customer back to the corner shop.
The SORS ERP POS is built for that counter: barcode scanning, held bills, cash, card and MFS recorded per payment method, receipt printing and a Z-report per counter session. Behind it, auto replenishment rules, stock aging and supplier orders keep the shelves full without overstocking perishables.
Loyalty points, coupons and flash sales bring customers back, and every sale posts to accounts and to the Mushak sales register automatically. If you open a second outlet, it joins the same system with its own counters and stock, and Bangla item names print on the receipt.
What goes wrong today
- Queues at the evening rush
- One slow counter at 7pm empties the shop. Items without barcodes are looked up by name, prices are unclear, and a customer who forgot their wallet holds everyone else up while the bill is redone.
- Cash that does not balance
- At closing, the drawer is short and nobody knows which counter or which shift is responsible. Without a per-session report, the loss is absorbed and the same thing happens next week.
- Shelves empty while the godown is full
- Reordering is done by walking the aisles. Fast movers run out on a Friday, slow movers pile up, and perishables expire because nobody saw the aging stock until it was too late.
- Prices changed on paper
- Market prices for rice, oil and onions move weekly. Updating shelf labels and the billing system separately means the customer is charged one price and sees another, and trust goes with it.
- No idea who the regulars are
- Customers who shop every week are anonymous at the counter. Competing stores offer points, member prices and SMS offers, while you rely on a Facebook post and hope they come back.
- VAT registers compiled at month end
- Thousands of sales a month have to be summarised into the Mushak sales register and the return. Doing this from receipt rolls and Excel takes days and invites errors the auditor will find.
How SORS ERP is set up for you
- Fast billing on every counter POS
- Counter check-in and sessions per cashier, barcode scanning, held bills, cash, card and MFS payments, receipt printing and a Z-report at end of day so each counter balances before the shift ends.
- Auto replenishment and stock aging Inventory & Warehouses
- Set minimum and reorder levels per item and outlet. Replenishment rules suggest what to order, stock aging shows slow movers and perishables at risk, and barcodes are generated in bulk for loose items.
- Bulk price updates and promotions Items & Pricing
- Change hundreds of prices in one bulk update when the market moves, keep a pricing history, and run promotions, bundles and flash sales that apply automatically at the counter.
- Loyalty points and member offers Customers, CRM & Loyalty
- A loyalty program with points on every purchase, bulk point awards, coupons per customer, segments for regulars, and SMS or email campaigns when you have an offer worth telling them about.
- Supplier orders and goods receipt Purchase & Suppliers
- Purchase orders to suppliers, goods receipt against them, direct bills for cash purchases from the wholesale market, purchase returns for damaged cartons and batch payments to suppliers.
- Mushak and accounts from the counter Accounting & Mushak VAT
- Every counter sale posts to accounts and the sales register. Mushak 6.3 invoices can be produced where a customer needs one, and the VAT return summary is prepared from the period's sales and purchases.
A day inside the system
The order of events as it runs in SORS ERP.
- 1
Open counters for the day
Cashiers check in to their counter, opening cash is recorded, and the session starts. Prices and promotions for the day are already in the system.
- 2
Bill customers by barcode
Items are scanned, loose items are picked from the screen, loyalty points are added to the member's account, and payment is taken in cash, card or bKash.
- 3
Restock from the godown
Shelf stock is topped up with a transfer from the godown, and replenishment suggestions are turned into purchase orders for suppliers.
- 4
Receive supplier deliveries
Goods arrive against purchase orders, quantities are checked at the GRN, damaged items are returned and the supplier bill posts to payables.
- 5
Close counters and review
Each counter runs a Z-report and the cash is counted against it. The owner sees sales by counter, outlet and category, and the day's margin.
Frequently asked questions
How many counters can SORS ERP run?
An outlet can have multiple counters, each with its own check-in, session and Z-report. Cashiers work in a browser on any PC, so adding a counter for the rush is a matter of another machine, a scanner and a receipt printer.
Does the POS work when the internet goes down?
SORS ERP is a web application and needs a connection to complete sales; the PWA shows an offline page but does not queue sales offline. Most stores keep a mobile hotspot as a backup. We say this plainly because it matters for a busy counter.
Can it handle items sold by weight?
Items can be set up with units such as kilogram or gram and billed by the quantity entered at the counter. Direct integration with weighing scales or scale-printed barcodes is not built in today; ask us if you need it and we will tell you what is involved.
Does it support loyalty points and membership?
Yes. The loyalty program awards points on purchases, supports bulk point awards, and coupons can be issued per customer. Each customer has a profile with purchase history, and segments let you send SMS or email offers to regulars.
Can I run two or more outlets from one system?
Yes. Each outlet has its own counters, stock and access control, and the owner sees all outlets from one dashboard. Transfers between outlets and the central godown are recorded, and reports can be run per outlet or combined.
