Inventory software for superstores and grocery retail in Bangladesh
Set minimum and reorder levels per item and outlet. Replenishment rules suggest what to order, stock aging shows slow movers and perishables at risk, and barcodes are generated in bulk for loose items.
Grocery retail is a replenishment business. Thousands of lines, most of them cheap, most of them moving, and a shelf that is empty of a staple item sends the customer to a competitor for the whole basket rather than that one product.
Doing that by walking the aisles works for one shop and fails for three. Reorder levels set per item and per warehouse turn replenishment into a list, and stock aging catches the lines that were ordered out of habit and stopped selling.
What goes wrong for superstores
Everyday problems in this trade, from the industry guide.
-
Queues at the evening rush
One slow counter at 7pm empties the shop. Items without barcodes are looked up by name, prices are unclear, and a customer who forgot their wallet holds everyone else up while the bill is redone.
-
Cash that does not balance
At closing, the drawer is short and nobody knows which counter or which shift is responsible. Without a per-session report, the loss is absorbed and the same thing happens next week.
-
Shelves empty while the godown is full
Reordering is done by walking the aisles. Fast movers run out on a Friday, slow movers pile up, and perishables expire because nobody saw the aging stock until it was too late.
-
Prices changed on paper
Market prices for rice, oil and onions move weekly. Updating shelf labels and the billing system separately means the customer is charged one price and sees another, and trust goes with it.

What you get
The parts of Inventory & Warehouses that matter most here.
-
Auto replenishment rules
Define a reorder point and order quantity per item and warehouse. When stock falls to the reorder point the ERP suggests an order and can create the purchase requisition for the buyer to approve.
-
Stock aging
See how long each item has sat in each warehouse in aging buckets, so slow movers are discounted, returned or bundled before they tie up more cash than they are worth.
-
Multi-warehouse stock summary
See quantity on hand and available per item per warehouse, with bins inside a warehouse for larger godowns. Warehouse access controls who can view or move stock at each location.
-
Batch and expiry
Receive stock in batches with manufacture and expiry dates, see expiring stock ahead of time and pick batches at sale. Expiry management flags what to return to the supplier or write off.
-
Adjustments and stock control
Post adjustments for damage, shrinkage or count differences with a reason, and set minimum and maximum levels per item. Low stock alerts can go out by SMS through the SMS module.
-
Transfers between godowns
Create a transfer, approve it, ship it and receive it at the destination, scanning barcodes at each step. The destination warehouse updates only on receipt, so nothing is counted twice or lost in between.
A working day for superstores
The sequence this trade actually runs, from the industry guide.
-
Open counters for the day
Cashiers check in to their counter, opening cash is recorded, and the session starts. Prices and promotions for the day are already in the system.
-
Bill customers by barcode
Items are scanned, loose items are picked from the screen, loyalty points are added to the member's account, and payment is taken in cash, card or bKash.
-
Restock from the godown
Shelf stock is topped up with a transfer from the godown, and replenishment suggestions are turned into purchase orders for suppliers.
-
Receive supplier deliveries
Goods arrive against purchase orders, quantities are checked at the GRN, damaged items are returned and the supplier bill posts to payables.
-
Close counters and review
Each counter runs a Z-report and the cash is counted against it. The owner sees sales by counter, outlet and category, and the day's margin.
Questions
Answered plainly, including where the answer is no.
Can reorder levels differ per outlet?
Yes. Replenishment rules are set per item and warehouse, so a branch that sells more of something carries a different level from one that does not.
Does it handle dated goods?
Batch and expiry tracking covers packaged food and other dated lines, with aging reports so short dated stock is discounted rather than written off.
