Product names of other companies are trademarks of their respective owners and are used for comparison only.

Both are open source ERPs used in Bangladesh through partners and community effort, and both are chosen for the same reason: capability without a per user enterprise licence. The comparison is mostly about who carries the work.

Odoo has a larger ecosystem, a polished interface and a partner network, with Enterprise sold per user. ERPNext is free to licence with Frappe Cloud or self hosting, and leans harder on your own technical capacity. For Bangladesh, neither ships Mushak forms natively; localisation comes from a partner or the community in both cases.

SORS Technology makes SORS ERP and is neither of these vendors, so treat this as a summary of public information rather than an impartial review. Facts come from each vendor's own website; anything we could not verify is marked unknown, and SORS ERP is shown in a third column so you can see where we stand.

Questions

Answered plainly, including where the answer is no.

Which is cheaper, Odoo or ERPNext?

ERPNext has the lower licence cost, often zero. Whether it is cheaper overall depends on whether you have someone to run it. Implementation, hosting, upgrades and support dominate the cost of any self hosted ERP, and reviewers cite a wide range for Odoo implementations in Bangladesh.

Do either handle Bangladesh VAT out of the box?

Neither ships native Mushak forms. Both rely on partner or community localisation, which means your compliance depends on that work being maintained. Ask specifically which Mushak forms the implementation will produce before committing.
