This is the open source question in its clearest form. ERPNext costs nothing to licence and can do a great deal, with Bangladesh localisation coming from the community or a partner. Troyee costs money, has been sold in Bangladesh since 2004, and lists an NBR enlisted VAT module.

Businesses with a technical person and an appetite for control usually lean one way; businesses that want a phone number to call at month end usually lean the other. Both are defensible, and the wrong one is expensive.

SORS Technology makes SORS ERP and is neither of these vendors, so treat this as a summary of public information rather than an impartial review. Facts come from each vendor's own website; anything we could not verify is marked unknown, and SORS ERP is shown in a third column so you can see where we stand.

Questions

Answered plainly, including where the answer is no.

Is ERPNext usable for Bangladesh VAT?

It can be made to work through community or partner localisation, but Mushak forms are not native. Troyee lists a wide set of Mushak forms in an NBR enlisted VAT module. If VAT documentation is your main driver, that difference is the comparison.

What does ERPNext really cost?

The licence is free. The cost is implementation, hosting, upgrades and whoever maintains it. That can be excellent value if you have the capacity in house and expensive if you discover you do not.
