Troyee alternatives for Bangladeshi businesses

Troyee is made by Best Business Bond Ltd. If you are considering something else, here is a fair account of what it does well, what usually prompts the search, and what the alternatives are.

Troyee is accounting, inventory and VAT software from Best Business Bond Ltd (3BL), a Dhaka company founded in 2004. According to the vendor's website it serves more than 6,000 organisations and is sold in Lite, Enterprise and Premium editions, with desktop (LAN and WAN) and web versions plus mobile apps for sales orders and payment collection. Its VAT Management Software is enlisted with NBR under the VAT & SD Act 2012 and lists Mushak 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.5 to 6.10 and 9.1 among its forms. Separate editions cover POS, HRM and payroll, fixed assets, pharma and real estate.

SORS Technology makes SORS ERP, so we are one of the alternatives listed below and we have an interest in your decision. What follows keeps Troyee's strengths in its own words from public sources, marks what we could not verify as unknown, and says plainly where SORS ERP is the weaker choice.

Why businesses look for an alternative

Common reasons buyers give, not claims about the vendor.

  • The business has grown past accounting and stock

Troyee is strong on accounting, inventory and VAT. Businesses that add a retail counter, an online store, courier shipments and bulk SMS often end up buying those separately and reconciling between them, and start looking for one system instead.

  • A move from desktop to browser

Desktop and LAN editions suit an office with data on its own machines. Owners who want to see the day's figures from a phone, or run two outlets in different parts of the city, usually want a web application instead.

  • Editions bought one at a time

Where POS, HR and payroll and fixed assets are separate products, the cost and the integration work grow with each addition. A single platform with modules switched on per tenant is a different commercial shape.

How to switch without losing your records

The sequence that keeps your VAT position intact. It applies whichever system you move to.

  1. Export your masters

Chart of accounts, items, customers, suppliers and opening balances. These are the things you cannot recreate by hand, and getting them out cleanly is the first test of any migration.

  2. Pick a cut-off date

Usually the first day of a VAT period, so the old system closes a month and the new one opens one. Migrating mid month means preparing a return from two systems.

  3. Bring opening balances, not history

Party balances, stock quantities and valuations as at the cut-off. Keep the old system readable for prior years rather than trying to import them.

  4. Run both for one period

Issue Mushak 6.3 from the new system while the old one still holds the closed months, and compare the return summary against what you would have filed.

  5. Move the counter last

Back office first, POS after the back office is trusted. A counter that goes wrong is visible to customers in a way a ledger is not.

Questions

Answered plainly, including where the answer is no.

Can data be migrated from Troyee?

Masters and opening balances can be imported from Excel or CSV, which is the practical route from most systems. We do not connect to Troyee directly, and how easily data comes out is a question for your current vendor rather than for us.

Is SORS ERP a like for like replacement?

Not in every area. Troyee has manufacturing in its Enterprise edition today and a much longer track record, with more than 6,000 organisations by the vendor's count. SORS ERP is newer, has manufacturing on the roadmap, and covers POS, e-commerce, couriers and SMS in one platform.
