PrismERP alternatives for Bangladeshi businesses

PrismERP is made by Divine IT Limited. If you are considering something else, here is a fair account of what it does well, what usually prompts the search, and what the alternatives are.

PrismERP is a web-based ERP from Divine IT Limited, a Dhaka software company founded in 2005. The vendor's website describes more than 500 customers across 65+ industries and lists modules for financial management, supply chain, sales and distribution, human capital management, production planning and CRM, with an Android app and a desktop POS extension. Its sister product PrismVAT is NBR-approved under the VAT & SD Act 2012 and submits the 9.1 return to iVAS. PrismERP is platform independent (Linux, Windows or Mac) and is offered on premise or in a cloud hosted within Bangladesh.

SORS Technology makes SORS ERP, so we are one of the alternatives listed below and we have an interest in your decision. What follows keeps PrismERP's strengths in its own words from public sources, marks what we could not verify as unknown, and says plainly where SORS ERP is the weaker choice.

Why businesses look for an alternative

Common reasons buyers give, not claims about the vendor.

  • Cost relative to the size of the business

Third party reviewers describe PrismERP as priced towards larger implementations. Smaller businesses sometimes conclude that the fit is right but the scale is not, and look for something sized closer to them.

  • Retail and online selling in the same system

PrismERP publicly lists financial accounting, inventory, sales, purchase, branch management and production. Businesses whose growth is coming from a counter, a Facebook page or a courier relationship look for those in the core rather than as additions.

  • Implementation timeline

Larger ERP implementations take longer by nature. A business that needs to be issuing Mushak 6.3 next month sometimes chooses a smaller system it can be live on sooner.

How to switch without losing your records

The sequence that keeps your VAT position intact. It applies whichever system you move to.

  1. Establish what you are actually using

Larger implementations often carry modules nobody opens. List the screens your team uses weekly before comparing feature lists.

  2. Export masters and balances

Accounts, items, parties and opening balances as at your chosen cut-off, in Excel or CSV.

  3. Choose a VAT period boundary

Cut over at the start of a period so one system prepares one return.

  4. Rebuild reports before you switch

The reports your management actually reads are the thing people miss most after a migration. Build them in the custom report builder first.

  5. Keep the old system readable

For prior year comparisons and for anything an auditor asks about the closed period.

Questions

Answered plainly, including where the answer is no.

Is SORS ERP cheaper than PrismERP?

Neither vendor publishes a price list, so any comparison would be guesswork. What we can say is that our pricing is quote based, sized by users, locations and modules, with implementation and training included, and that we are a smaller and newer company than Divine IT.

Does SORS ERP handle production like PrismERP?

No. PrismERP publicly lists production among its modules. Our manufacturing module is switched off and on the roadmap, so for a production driven business it is not a like for like alternative today.
