Upay payments in SORS ERP

Upay is recorded as its own payment method at the counter and on invoices, and collected online through SSLCommerz.

Upay is one of the mobile financial services operating in Bangladesh, and businesses that accept it usually do so alongside the larger providers rather than instead of them.

The reason to configure it properly even at low volume is that an unrecognised payment method becomes cash by default, and a drawer that does not balance at the end of a busy day is expensive to investigate.

What is actually built

Stated plainly, including the parts that are not finished.

Upay is available as an MFS provider and payment method in SORS ERP, recorded separately and posted through account mapping. Online collection runs through SSLCommerz.

How to set it up

In order. Each step assumes the one before it.

  1. Enable Upay in configuration

Add it under MFS providers and payment methods.

  2. Map it to an account

So the receipt posts to the account that actually receives it.

  3. Enable it per outlet

Make it selectable only at the counters that accept it.

  4. Include it in end of day

The Z-report splits takings by payment method, so Upay is counted separately when the drawer is balanced.

Questions

Answered plainly, including where the answer is no.

Does the Z-report separate each payment method?

Yes. End of day reporting splits takings by method, so cash, card and each mobile financial service are counted separately rather than as one figure.

Can I switch a payment method off later?

Yes. Payment methods are configuration, and can be enabled or disabled per outlet without affecting transactions already recorded against them.
