bKash payments in SORS ERP

bKash is recorded as its own payment method at the counter, and collected online through SSLCommerz.

bKash is an everyday payment rail in Bangladesh rather than an alternative one. Customers pay for goods with it at counters, settle dues with it, and expect it as an option online.

The accounting difficulty is that many businesses record every bKash receipt as cash. That makes the bank reconciliation impossible, because the money arrives in a different account on a different day, and it hides how much of your trade actually runs on the rail.

What is actually built

Stated plainly, including the parts that are not finished.

bKash is set up as its own payment method in SORS ERP, so counter and invoice receipts are recorded against it rather than as generic cash, and post through account mapping to the account you nominate. Online collection runs through SSLCommerz. There is no direct bKash merchant API integration, and we do not claim one.

How to set it up

In order. Each step assumes the one before it.

  1. Add bKash as a payment method

In configuration, enable bKash under MFS providers and payment methods.

  2. Map it to an account

Point it at the ledger account that reflects where the money actually lands, not at general cash.

  3. Make it available at the counter

Enable the method for the outlets and counters that accept it, so cashiers can split a bill across cash and bKash.

  4. Reconcile against your statement

Use bank import and reconciliation to match recorded bKash receipts against what arrived.

Questions

Answered plainly, including where the answer is no.

Is there a direct bKash API integration?

No. SORS ERP does not integrate directly with a bKash merchant API. Online payments go through SSLCommerz, which carries bKash, and counter payments are recorded against bKash as a payment method.

Why record bKash separately from cash?

Because the money arrives somewhere else, at a different time. Recording it as its own method is what makes the end of day balance and the bank reconciliation both work.
