SSLCommerz payment gateway with SORS ERP

SSLCommerz is the payment gateway behind online collection in SORS ERP, carrying cards, bank and the mobile financial services.

SSLCommerz is one of the most widely used payment gateways in Bangladesh. For a merchant it matters because a single integration carries cards, internet banking and the mobile financial services including bKash, Nagad, Rocket and Upay, rather than requiring a separate merchant relationship for each.

For an online store that is the difference between accepting payment and not. Cash on delivery still dominates Bangladeshi e-commerce, but the share paid online rises as soon as paying online is easy, and prepaid orders come back as returns far less often than cash on delivery ones do.

What is actually built

Stated plainly, including the parts that are not finished.

SSLCommerz is integrated as a payment gateway in SORS ERP. Payments taken through it are recorded as payment transactions against the invoice or order, with the payment method preserved, so reconciliation against the settlement is possible later.

How to set it up

In order. Each step assumes the one before it.

  1. Get your SSLCommerz merchant credentials

Complete merchant registration with SSLCommerz and collect your store ID and store password for both sandbox and live.

  2. Add the gateway in configuration

Open the payment gateway settings in SORS ERP and enter the credentials, starting in sandbox mode.

  3. Map the payment to an account

Set the account mapping so gateway receipts post to the right bank or clearing account rather than to a general receipts bucket.

  4. Test with a sandbox transaction

Place a test order end to end and confirm the payment transaction appears against it with the method recorded.

  5. Switch to live

Change the mode and repeat one small real transaction before opening it to customers.

Questions

Answered plainly, including where the answer is no.

Does SSLCommerz cover bKash and Nagad?

Yes. SSLCommerz carries the mobile financial services alongside cards and internet banking, which is why it is the route used for online collection. There is no direct merchant integration with bKash in SORS ERP.

Where do gateway payments appear in the accounts?

As payment transactions against the invoice or order, with the payment method preserved and posted through account mapping to the account you nominate, so the gateway settlement can be reconciled against them.
