Receipt printers with SORS ERP POS
Standard thermal receipt printers work with the browser based POS for receipts and end of day Z-reports.
A counter needs a receipt in the customer's hand and a Z-report at the end of the session. Both come out of the same printer, and thermal printers are the norm in Bangladeshi retail because the consumables are cheap and available.
Because the POS runs in a browser, printing goes through the browser rather than through a driver the ERP installs. That keeps the setup simple and means the same counter works from any machine.
What is actually built
Stated plainly, including the parts that are not finished.
Receipts and Z-reports print from the POS in SORS ERP through the browser, using standard thermal receipt printers. Bangla text prints correctly on receipts. Courier shipping label file generation is a separate matter and is not finished, so this covers receipts rather than parcel labels.
How to set it up
In order. Each step assumes the one before it.
-
Install the printer on the counter machine
Use the manufacturer driver so the printer appears as a normal system printer.
-
Set the paper size
Match the roll width, usually 58mm or 80mm, in the printer settings.
-
Configure the receipt template
Set your business details, BIN and any footer text in the ERP.
-
Print a test receipt
Check alignment, and if you print item names in Bangla, check those specifically.
Questions
Answered plainly, including where the answer is no.
Do receipts print in Bangla?
Yes. Bangla works as data throughout, including on printed receipts and invoices, so item names and addresses in Bangla print correctly. The ERP screens themselves are in English; a Bangla interface is on the roadmap.
Does a POS receipt count as a Mushak 6.3?
It does when it carries what the form requires: serial number, your BIN, buyer details where the buyer is registered, the description, the value excluding VAT and the VAT separately. Counter sales generate the same tax invoice numbering as the back office.
