The Nuxt storefront on the SORS ERP API

A Nuxt storefront on Cloudflare runs on the ERP storefront API, sharing one catalogue, price list and stock with your counter.

The e-commerce module in SORS ERP is headless: the ERP holds products, prices, stock, orders and customers, and exposes them through a storefront API. The shop front end is a separate application that consumes it.

The storefront we run is built in Nuxt and hosted on Cloudflare, which keeps it fast for Bangladeshi visitors and cheap to serve. Because the two are separate, the storefront can be redesigned without touching the back office, and a business that wants its own front end can build against the same API.

What is actually built

Stated plainly, including the parts that are not finished.

The storefront API covers authentication, cart, wishlist, compare, checkout, orders, categories, brands, search, newsletter, notifications, loyalty, referral, product requests, pre-orders and reviews, with a homepage builder, product and policy pages, and PC Builder and Keyboard Builder for computer shops. A WordPress and WooCommerce sync module and an SEO module are on the roadmap.

How to set it up

In order. Each step assumes the one before it.

  1. Prepare your catalogue

Categories, items with variants, images and prices in the ERP. The storefront shows what the ERP holds, so this is the real work.

  2. Configure the storefront settings

Homepage sections, header, footer, banners and the category menu through the homepage builder.

  3. Set payment and shipping methods

SSLCommerz for online payment, cash on delivery, and the couriers and shipping classes you use.

  4. Connect a domain

Point your domain at the storefront and confirm the API connection from the live host.

  5. Place a test order end to end

Order, pay, book the courier and confirm stock, ledger and shipment all reflect it.

Questions

Answered plainly, including where the answer is no.

Can I build my own front end?

Yes. The storefront API is the interface, so a business with its own developers can build against it rather than using our Nuxt storefront.

Does the online store share stock with the shop?

Yes. One catalogue, one price list and one stock record, with reservation at checkout so an online order and a counter sale cannot both take the last unit.
