What is Warranty?

A warranty is the seller or manufacturer commitment to repair or replace an item within a stated period. Honouring it depends on being able to prove when the item was sold and what covers it.

In Bangladesh

Warranty cards written by hand at the counter are easy to lose and easy to dispute. A warranty tied to the serial number and the invoice removes the argument.

An example

A customer arrives with no receipt and a phone number. The serial on the device finds the sale, the date and the warranty terms, and the claim proceeds without an argument about whether it was bought here.

In SORS ERP

Warranty management in SORS ERP links the policy to the item and the sold serial, with claims, vendor claims, alerts and reports.

Questions

Does a warranty have to be printed on the invoice?

It is good practice and it removes disputes. What matters more is that the warranty is recorded against the sold item in a system, because a printed card gets lost long before the warranty expires.
