Grameenphone SMS gateway with SORS ERP

Send transactional and bulk SMS through Grameenphone, in Bangla Unicode, triggered by events in the ERP.

Grameenphone has the largest subscriber base in Bangladesh, which for a business sending order and delivery alerts means the largest share of your customers reachable on one gateway.

What separates a gateway that works from one that does not is delivery and encoding. A message that arrives late, or arrives as boxes because the Bangla was not encoded correctly, does more harm than not sending it.

What is actually built

Stated plainly, including the parts that are not finished.

Grameenphone is one of sixteen SMS gateways configured in SORS ERP. Messages are sent from templates, triggered by events, with Bangla Unicode encoding handled and delivery logs kept so you can see what actually arrived.

How to set it up

In order. Each step assumes the one before it.

  1. Get gateway credentials

Arrange a business SMS account with Grameenphone and collect the API credentials and your approved sender ID.

  2. Add the gateway in SMS settings

Enter the credentials in SORS ERP under SMS gateway configuration.

  3. Create your templates

Write the message templates with variables for customer name, order number and amount, in Bangla or English.

  4. Set the triggers

Choose which events send which template: order placed, payment received, shipment, delivery, due reminder.

  5. Send a test and check the log

Send to your own number and confirm both delivery and correct Bangla rendering before switching triggers on.

Questions

Answered plainly, including where the answer is no.

Do Bangla messages render correctly?

Yes. Bangla Unicode encoding is handled, which is the difference between a readable message and a screen of boxes. Send a test to your own handset before enabling triggers, as a matter of habit.

Can I use more than one gateway?

Sixteen gateways are supported and configured in settings, so a business can route through the one that performs best for its customer base, or change without changing anything else.
