In Bangladesh
Most business owners here are on Android and are used to installing apps. A PWA gets an icon on the home screen without the download size or the store approval cycle, though it is still a web app and needs a connection.
An example
An owner opens the ERP in Chrome on an Android phone, chooses install, and gets an icon on the home screen that opens without browser chrome. No app store, no download of 80MB.
In SORS ERP
SORS ERP installs as a PWA with a service worker and an offline page. There is no native mobile app, and the POS has no offline billing mode, so a counter still needs a working connection.

Questions
Answered plainly, including where the answer is no.
Is a PWA as good as a native app?
For a business system, usually yes, and it updates the moment we deploy rather than when the user updates an app. What it does not give you is genuine offline working, which is why the POS still needs a connection.
