Accounting and VAT software for garment factories and small manufacturers in Bangladesh

General ledger, bank reconciliation, cost centres per line or unit, budgets against actuals and multi-currency for export receipts. Mushak registers and the VAT return summary come from the same entries.

A factory's accounts have to answer questions a shop's never do. What did this unit cost to run this month, how does that compare with the budget, and where did the variance come from.

Export oriented units add a second layer, because zero rated supplies and foreign currency receipts need to be kept distinct in the records rather than netted off. Both jobs are structural: they depend on cost centres and account mapping being set up properly at the start.

What goes wrong for garment factories

Everyday problems in this trade, from the industry guide.

  • Salary sheet built in Excel

Attendance is exported from the device, overtime is added by hand, and advances and deductions are remembered. One wrong cell and the whole floor knows by lunchtime on payday.

  • Overtime and shifts hard to prove

Buyers and auditors ask for attendance and overtime records. When punches, shift rosters and pay live in different files, producing a clean record for a compliance audit takes days.

  • Attendance devices not connected

The ZKTeco machine at the gate stores punches locally. Someone downloads them with a pen drive, and late or missing downloads mean disputed attendance and delayed pay for everyone.

  • Purchases and stock untracked

Fabric, trims, thread and machine spares are bought on request and issued without records. Nobody knows what is in the store or what the last supplier charged for the same item.

Accounts, budgets and Mushak

How Accounting & Mushak VAT handles it.

General ledger, bank reconciliation, cost centres per line or unit, budgets against actuals and multi-currency for export receipts. Mushak registers and the VAT return summary come from the same entries.

What you get

The parts of Accounting & Mushak VAT that matter most here.

  • Cost centres, currency and budgets

Tag income and expenses to cost centres or branches, hold balances in more than one currency and set budgets with budget versus actual and variance reports for each period.

  • Automatic journal entries

Account mapping rules decide which ledger each sale, purchase, stock movement, return, expense or payroll run hits. Accounts staff review postings instead of typing them, and the mapping is editable for your business.

  • Financial statements

Trial balance, profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow are generated from the ledger for any period you choose. Export them to Excel or PDF for your auditor, your bank or the board.

  • VAT registers and return summary

Keep Mushak 6.1 purchase and 6.2 sales registers, then produce a period summary of output VAT, input VAT, net VAT and supplementary duty. Use it to prepare your Mushak 9.1 return or turnover tax return.

  • Bank import and reconciliation

Record bank accounts, import statement lines from CSV and match them against payments and receipts. Unmatched items stay visible until someone explains them, and reconciliations are saved per period.

  • Periods, lock and close

Define accounting periods, lock them once the return is filed and close the year with balances carried forward. Locked periods reject back-dated entries, which keeps VAT filings and books consistent.

A working day for garment factories

The sequence this trade actually runs, from the industry guide.

  1. Workers punch in at the gate

ZKTeco punches sync to the ERP through the LAN agent. Late arrivals, absences and shift mismatches show up on the attendance dashboard the same morning.

  2. Supervisors approve overtime and leave

Overtime entries and leave applications go through the approval workflow. Corrections to attendance are recorded with a reason and an audit trail.

  3. Store issues materials against requisitions

Requisitions are finalised into purchase orders where needed, goods are received with a GRN, and store stock updates for fabric, trims and spares.

  4. Payroll is processed for the period

Salary structures, attendance, overtime, advances and tax slabs produce the payroll. It moves through process, approve, disburse and finalise, and payslips are generated.

  5. Accounts close the month

Payroll, purchases and expenses have posted automatically. Bank reconciliation is done, the period is locked and the Mushak return summary is reviewed.

Questions

Answered plainly, including where the answer is no.

Can I compare budget against actual?

Yes. Budgets can be created and compared with actuals, with variance analysis, and cost centres let the comparison be made per unit or department rather than only for the company.

Are export supplies handled separately?

Zero rated supplies are configured through tax structures and stay identifiable in the registers and the return summary, and multi currency covers receipts settled in another currency.
