Where this matters most
Manufacturing in SORS ERP is on the roadmap. The module exists in the codebase with bill of materials, production plans, pipelines, work orders, production execution, finished goods and waste goods, but it is switched off for all tenants today and is not sold as a working feature. This page describes what is planned, not what you can buy this month.
The plan is simple production for small and mid-sized makers: a garments unit stitching from fabric and accessories, a furniture workshop, a food packer, or a computer shop assembling PCs from components. Define what goes into a product, plan how many to make, issue work orders, record what came out and what was wasted, and let stock and costs follow.
If manufacturing is your core business today, SORS ERP is not yet the right fit and we will say so on a call. If you mainly trade and want light assembly or kitting, the Items module's packages and bundles and the Inventory module already handle much of it, and manufacturing can be switched on when it ships.

What is included
- Bill of materials (planned)
- Define the components, quantities and units that make one finished item. A BOM is planned to drive material requirements for a production plan and the stock issue when a work order starts.
- Production plans and templates (planned)
- Planned: set a quantity of finished goods for a period, check the materials needed against stock, and save recurring plans as templates so a regular weekly run is set up in a minute.
- Pipelines and work orders (planned)
- Planned: define the stages a job passes through, such as cutting, sewing, finishing and packing, then issue work orders against a plan and move them stage by stage so the floor supervisor sees what is where.
- Production execution (planned)
- Planned: record actual output against a work order, with materials consumed from the godown and labour or overhead noted, so planned versus actual quantity and efficiency can be reported per order and per line.
- Finished goods to stock (planned)
- Planned: completed units are received into inventory as finished goods with a cost built from materials used, ready to sell through POS, invoices or the online shop like any other item, with serial or batch numbers where needed.
- Waste goods tracking (planned)
- Planned: log rejected units, offcuts and spoilage against the work order with a reason, so waste percentage by product and by stage is visible and the material cost of waste is not silently absorbed into margin.
- Manufacturing reports (planned)
- Planned: a manufacturing dashboard and an AI-assisted reporting agent for production, covering output, efficiency and waste for a period, alongside the standard reports the rest of SORS ERP already provides.
In Bangladesh
Garments and textiles are the backbone of Bangladeshi manufacturing, but a large export factory needs style-wise costing, LC tracking and bonded-warehouse records that go well beyond what this module plans to cover at first. Established local systems such as PrideERP or Troyee Enterprise, publicly listed as manufacturing-focused, are the safer choice for that scale today.
The gap we are aiming at is the small maker: a Keraniganj or Narayanganj garments unit doing local orders, a Savar furniture workshop, a snacks packer in Bogura, or a Dhaka computer shop that assembles branded PCs from parts it already stocks. These businesses need a bill of materials and work orders, not a full MRP suite.
Until the module ships, SORS ERP handles the trading side of these businesses fully: purchase of raw materials, multi-godown stock, sales with VAT invoices, payroll for production staff and accounts. Bundles and packages in the Items module cover simple kits today.
Frequently asked questions
Is the manufacturing module available now?
No. It is on the roadmap and switched off for all tenants today. The screens for bill of materials, production plans, work orders, production execution, finished goods and waste goods exist in the codebase, but they are not released and we do not sell them yet.
When will it be released?
We do not publish a date. If manufacturing matters to your decision, tell us on the demo call and we will show the current state and say plainly what is realistic for your timeline.
What can I use in the meantime?
Purchase, Inventory, Items and Sales already cover raw material buying, multi-godown stock, packages and bundles for simple kits, and VAT invoicing of finished products. A small maker can run on those now and add production tracking when the module ships.
Will it suit a garments factory?
Not a large export factory at first. The planned scope is bill of materials, production plans, work orders, execution, finished goods and waste, which fits small local garments units, furniture workshops, food packers and PC assemblers. Style-wise costing, LC and bonded-warehouse tracking are not in the first plan.
Can SORS Technology build custom manufacturing features for us?
Yes. Customisation and bespoke ERP builds are a service SORS Technology offers, so a specific production workflow can be scoped and built for you on top of the ERP. Custom work is quoted separately from the standard modules.
Does a roadmap module affect the rest of the ERP?
No. Modules are switched per tenant, so a roadmap module simply does not appear in your menu. Everything else, from POS to payroll, works as described on its own page.
